The Lord Botetourt boys were 13th and the girls finished 20th in the state Class 3 indoor track meet at Liberty University last week. The Western Albemarle boys and Heritage girls took team championships among over 50 schools participating in Class 3.
LB’s top finish was a third place in the 55 meter hurdles by junior Savion Moon. He had a time of 8.04 and the winning time was 7.74 by Ledric Reid, a senior from Fluvanna County.
Bryson Cook took a fifth in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:40.04 and Jeremiah Emmons-Mayo was seventh in the 55 Meter hurdles at 8.37. Emmons-Mayo also ran on the sixth place 4×200 relay team with Joey Isaacs, Trenton Ruble and Ethan Webster. They ran a time of 1:36.27.
For the girls, LB sophomore Sydney Vokus was fourth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:08.08. Mary Caroline Heinen, a senior from Maggie Walker, blew away the field with a time of 11:33.87, winning the race by almost half a minute.
