The 29th annual Mountain Magic in Fall returns to Buchanan Town Park this Saturday.
This year, festivalgoers can shop over 80 unique vendors. These local artisans create everything from refurbished furniture to wooden crafts to jewelry to soaps and candles to macrame, crochet, embroidery and quilts. Additionally, many vendors have specialty Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas themed items for the upcoming holidays. But the fun isn’t just for grownups. This year, the event will have activities for kids of all ages, including a train ride, a bounce house, and face painting.
Guests will also have a chance to take a break from all of the shopping to enjoy some delicious food from Mill Creek Church, Blue Ridge Cider Donuts, H’s BBQ & Snow Cones, Sunny Dze Treatz, Gigi’s Walking Desserts, and Snap Services Gourmet Italian Icees.
Traditional and contemporary bluegrass music will be performed by Wasted Ways, Haymaker Town Express, Barry and Mudflaps, Mike Lee, Jason Harris & Friends, Blue Connection, and Virginia Carolina Band. And don’t forget to check out the classic autos, trucks, and tractors on display and vote for your favorites.
The Town of Buchanan will be selling T-shirts and hats with the new Mountain Magic logo, designed by Buchanan native Ranse Ransone. Special orders and specific sizes of Mountain Magic T-shirts can also be placed online.
The shops and restaurants on Main Street will also be open for shopping and dining experiences before, during, and after the festival. Peruse Main Street, walk across Buchanan’s famous Swinging Bridge, take some selfies at the LOVE sign, and be sure to tag all photos posted to social media with #MountainMagic.
While the town has an incredible number of craft and food vendors, it is still accepting applications.
