In a recent release, the New Freedom Farm Board of Directors announced that the beloved nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans and first responders through equine interaction and supportive peer networks is reopening its doors on May 22.
“After a necessary pause, [New Freedom Farm is] back and more committed than ever to our mission of providing healing and hope to our nation’s heroes,” the release went on to say. “During this time, we took the opportunity to reevaluate and enhance our operations, events, and programs to ensure that we can continue delivering the highest-quality services to our veterans, first responders, and their families. We are excited for this next chapter of our journey.
Starting May 22 the farm will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans and first responders are invited to visit during these hours for healing and camaraderie.
The farm will soon announce new programs over the coming weeks, designed to provide a supportive environment for healing and growth. Anyone who knows someone who could benefit from the programs at New Freedom Farm or those wishing to become a sponsor are encouraged them to contact them by visiting the website at newfreedomfarm.org or by phone at 540-855-1158.
“Your generous support has always been the backbone of our organization. Consider making a donation, becoming a sponsor, or spreading the word about New Freedom Farm to help us reach more heroes in need,” the news release continued.
As New Freedom Farm reopens, they reflect on “the challenges of the past year and feel compelled to share a deep commitment to eliminating the stigma around mental health struggles in hopes of making a positive impact on the lives of local veterans and their families.”
New Freedom Farm is located at 6118 Lithia Road in Buchanan.
