Ashley “Trippy” Niccole Brooks Newcomb, 26, of Buchanan, gained her angel wings Friday, July 12, 2019.
Ashley was a ray of bright light in this world that radiated love and positive energy to all who knew her. She was quick to offer help to anyone or anything that needed it. Just the simple act of making someone smile or encouraging someone when they may have really needed it, truly brought her some of her greatest joy.
She was a huge supporter of any group or organization that’s purpose was to help abused or suffering children. Even with her own struggles, she was sunshine in many people’s lives. She loved animals, music, photography, gaming, RC cars, camping, and the beach. Family and friends were a top priority, and anyone who knew her, knew she was “Batman.”
We are all better off for having known her, whether as a family member, friend, neighborhood store cashier, or even someone she hadn’t gotten to call a friend yet. A truly beautiful soul who was taken from us way too soon.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Paul Brooks; grandfather, Roger W. Newcomb; step-grandfather, Pete Astin; great-grandmothers, Mary H. Hawkins, Louise Newcomb, and Helen Brooks.
She is survived by her husband of two years, Steven “Chang” Newcomb; mother and step-father, Julie and Scott Norton; grandparents, Mary Jane Newcomb, Cindy and Thomas Yeatts, Mardi Belfiore and Paul Brooks; brother, James Brooks; nephews, Blaise and Ryder Brooks; and her fur baby kitties, Pepper, Anuk, and Onyx.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. with memorial services at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider Angels of Assisi or Logan’s Journey (Facebook). Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com, 254-3000.
