Cary William Obenshain, 73, of Troutville, passed away Thursday November 12, 2020.
Mr. Obenshain was an owner/operator of several gas stations in Troutville and Roanoke Valley for over 30 years and he worked on the family farm in Nace. Cary enjoyed family trips to the beach, fishing, family dinners, and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Davis Obenshain, and his mother, Margaret Camper Obenshain.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Young Obenshain; sons, Christopher D. Obenshain of Charlottesville, and Derek R. Obenshain of Troutville; daughter, Kimberly A. Fickey of Troutville; grandson, Caleb Snyder, and granddaughter, Riley Fickey; sister, Penny Davis and husband, Danny, of Troutville.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mallidi, and the many wonderful nurses at the Blue Ridge Cancer Center. A very special thank you goes out to Sarah Quinlin at Good Samaritan Hospice for taking such good care of him.
A gathering of friends and family was held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 15 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. Burial was private. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfuneralhome.com.
