GOODWIN, Jesse C.

Jesse “Tippy” Clarence Goodwin, 82, of Buchanan passed away Friday, November 17, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mamie Goodwin; half-brother, Melvin “Buck” Goolsby; brother, William “Bill” Goodwin; sisters, Mildred Stoner and Annie “Sissy” Goodwin.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Patricia “Patsy” Goodwin; daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Wayne Alexander of Blue Ridge and Karen Goodwin of Buchanan; grandchildren, Michael Alexander and Ashley Mundy.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 20, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Pastor Rick Troutt officiating.  Interment was in Lithia Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family received the friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, November 19, at Botetourt Funeral Home. SINK, Phillip Ray

Phillip Ray Sink, 69, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Ray was the owner of Ray Sink Pipeline Inc., had obtained his Private Pilot’s license, and was an avid sports fan supporting the Yankees, Cowboys, and the Hokies. He was a life member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Captain and Assistant Chief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles S. and Margaret Pearl Austin Sink; brother, Ricky W. Sink; and father-in-law, Buddy Vines.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sherry Vines Sink; daughters, Tina and Jeff Ratcliffe of Lexington, Christy and Ray Kaelin of Louisville, Ky.; sons, Wade and Stephanie Anderson of Richmond, Ryan “Rine” and Rachel Anderson of Roanoke; grandchildren, Phillip Moore, McKenzie and Marcus Engleman, Jenna Ratcliffe, Madeleine, Ian, Carter and Owen Anderson, and Taylor and Lauren Kaelin; great-grandson, Brayden; mother-in-law, Cindy Vines; brother, Randy and Michelle Sink; sisters, Reena and Mike Emore, and Rhonda and Michael Martinez; sister-in-law, Nancy Sink;  beloved nieces and nephews, and special companion, Little Bear.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, in the Buchanan Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Woody and the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway.
