Open Studios-Botetourt’s Preview Event “Art on the Porch” returns August 19 and 20 at Ikenberry Orchards, 2557 Roanoke Road, Daleville. On Saturday morning, photographer Dan Jones will share his photos and process. That afternoon, wood carver Jim Stadtlander will work his master craft. Sunday afternoon, photographer Dan Henderson will set up a cyanotype or sun print demonstration.
For the past few years, Open Studios-Botetourt has partnered with a local Botetourt business to highlight what visitors can expect on the open workshop and studio tour scheduled for October 21 and 22. Ikenberry Orchards is preview location this weekend with the final preview weekend September 23 and 24.
Visitors to “Art on the Porch” will have a chance to meet some of the Open Studios-Botetourt artists, ask questions about the tour, view the artwork, learn about the artists’ process and perhaps even see a short demo. Check the Open Studios-Botetourt Facebook page for specific updates.
Open Studios-Botetourt a is free self-guided driving art tour that returns on October 21 and 22. “Art in the Country” will feature 16 artists in seven locations opening their workshops, studios and homes to the public.
