Open Studios–Botetourt, Art in the Country, returns for the annual open studio and workshop tour on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.  Photography, jewelry, painting, collage, woodcarving, printmaking, and woodturning will all be featured.

Various studios, workshops and residences around Botetourt County will feature 16 artists in seven locations. The Open Studios–Botetourt tour will extend from Daleville/Troutville into Fincastle and just a little bit further. The stops in between vary from several artists to a single artist.

This year two new artists are participating along with the return of many favorite artists. Botetourt artists include Ed Bordett, Leah Coffman, Vera Dickerson, Dan Jones, Diane Harto (new), Kristen Kyle (new), Brett LaGue, Cheryl Miller Lackey, Judith F. Lochbrunner, Jim Stadtlander and Mark Woodie with David Jermann rejoining the tour. Returning guest artists are Karin Carlson, Marsha Heatwole, Susan McLaren and David Eakin. The family of Willie Simmons, who passed away earlier this year, will have his workshop open for purchasing his woodturning pieces.

The community can learn more about the artists, the art and the tour locations at https://openstudiosbotetourt.com.  The website features a map with addresses and contact information.   Or visitors can begin the Tour at 5 East Main Street, Fincastle, VA 24090 and pick up a brochure with the map and artist information.   Also, Open Studios-Botetourt brochures can also be picked up at all Roanoke Valley Bank of Botetourt locations.

The art tour can also be found on Facebook (Open Studios – Botetourt) and Instagram (@openstudiosbotetourt).
