American Legion Post 249 will be conducting a meet and greet session for the four candidates who are running for the position of Botetourt County sheriff. This meeting will be conducted at the VFW Building which is located at the corner of Route 220 and Country Club Road.
The format will be as follows: the session will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a welcome message from Ray Gabay, commander of Post 240. He will then introduce Aila Boyd, editor of “The Fincastle Herald.” Boyd will be in charge of this part of the session. Each candidate will be given 10 minutes to explain his qualifications to be considered for the position of sheriff of Botetourt County. After each candidate has had his 10-minute session, Boyd will then announce that the four candidates will leave the stage, mingle with the audience, and answer any questions on a one-to-one basis.
