Once again this year, the Historic Fincastle Fall Festival will host the 2024 Quilt Show in the sanctuary of the Old Fincastle Baptist Church on the corner of Main and Church Streets. The church is presently a private home but the sanctuary, featuring the original stain glass windows and pews will showcase the beautiful artistry of pieced quilts.  As the windows were carefully pieced from cut shapes of glass and soldered together to form designs, these quilts are pieced together from cut shapes of fabric and carefully sewn together.  One art form, two different mediums, beautiful art the result.

The show is Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  At 12 noon on the steps of the Courthouse, two very special quilts will be presented to two of Fincastle’s veterans and HFI members. These quilts are a part of the Quilts of Valor program. All are invited to the presentation.

Anyone interested in displaying a quilt(s) may look on the hisfin.org website and look for Quilt Show. The registration form and all information can be found there for printing convenience.

Visitors to the Fincastle Festival are encouraged to take a moment from the fun of the festival and walk inside the church to view these beautiful quilts and vote for their favorite.
