Cathy Henderson, who lives in the Springwood area, was awarded two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon for the quilts she made and entered in the Rockbridge Pieceworkers Quilt Guild show at the Rockbridge Regional Fair in Lexington September 6-8.
She took first place in Hand Quilted Large for her quilt named Scrappy Baskets and first place in Hand Quilted Medium/Small for her quilt named Vintage Farm Girl. She also took second place in Hand Quilted Medium/Small for her quilt named 1776.
This year’s quilt show was judged by Augusta Cole, a well-known Virginia quilter who has served as president of the Virginia Consortium of Quilters, a statewide quilting group.
