Tony McClelland Rader was born February 1, 1931 in Springwood, Va. to Francis M. (Kern) and Grover C. Rader. He passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Tony grew up in Springwood, where he attended school, worked on a diary farm and raced motorcycles. He was married and had five children, Pam, Ted, Kim, Paul and Tony Jr. Tony later moved to western Oklahoma following his truck driving occupation where he met and was married to Janet Leona (Bobbitt) Rader on July 15, 1976 in Kelton, Texas. He gained a son, Stan and a daughter, Dana. After their marriage they made their home in Hammon, Okla.. Tony and Jan purchased the T&J Drive-In in 1978 and operated it together for 16 years. Tony drove the activity bus for the better part of 20 years for Hammon Public Schools and later had a school bus route. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many people and also enjoyed woodworking, collecting Frankhoma pottery, traveling in his RV, following all the Hammon sporting activities, gardening, tinkering around town on his Kubota and rocking in his rocking chair.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jan; and one grandson, Dustin Karber.
He is survived by his children, Pam Jamison, Buchanan; Ted Rader and wife, Cheryl, Buchanan; Kim Musgrove and husband, Donald, Roanoke; Paul Rader, Chesapeake; Tony Rader, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Tulsa, Okla.; Stan Karber, Cheyenne, Okla.; and Dana Walker and husband, Kevin, Perryton, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
