Radford sweeps All-State Class 2 football honors, River’s Staton makes All-Region team at linebacker

The Virginia High School League has announced its 2023 Class 2 All-State football team and Radford High of the Three Rivers District swept the honors. Radford senior quarterback Landen Clark is the Class 2 Offensive Player of the Year, Radford senior linebacker Charlie Davis is the Class 2 Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Michael Crist is the Class 2 Coach of the Year after the Bobcats won the Class 2 state championship at Salem Stadium in December with a 39-21 win over Riverheads.

James River had no All-State selections but Gabe Staton of James River made second team at linebacker on the All-Region 2C team. Staton, a senior, also made second team on the All-Three Rivers District team.
