Radford City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in seeking two credit card fraud suspects. The pictured suspects are involved in credit card fraud, which took place during the months of November and December 2016 at the Radford Food Lion.
The fraud is what is known as being “skimmed” or “skimming.” This type of credit card fraud is where a card reader has been utilized at a local establishment and although the victim retains possession of their card, a new card is created which is linked to their bank account.
These suspects then are using the victims accounts to purchase gift cards and will be in possession of several new created cards. Similar incidents of “skimming” have been reported in surrounding jurisdictions.
This case is still under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Anyone with information in the case should contact Detective Eric Martin at eric.martion@radfordva.gov or 267-3196.
