Botetourt Parks & Recreation Department has partnered to provide youth soccer/football and basketball camps, adult tennis lessons and kickboxing lessons this fall.
They include:
- Great Beginnings Soccer/Football Program with Ed Green for ages 3 to 6 year olds. The program runs each Sunday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. September 17-October 15 at the Lord Botetourt High School practice field. Boys and girls are welcome. The cost for the five-week program is $65 payable to Ed Green
This five week instructional program targets 3 to 6 year olds to prepare them for the challenges of organized sports in a non-threatening atmosphere. Children and their parents will work together to learn basic motor skills needed to successfully move on to more organized sports in the years to come. This program is designed to have fun and teach the sport through fun activities using a football to develop motor skills, cognitive abilities and social interaction. - Kickboxing classes will be held at Read Mountain Middle School beginning Tuesday. September 12. For details, call Botetourt Parks and Recreation at 928-2130.
- Adult Tennis Classes are being offered at Blue Ridge Park September 19, 21, 26 and 28 at 6 p.m. Participants must be at least 14 years old. There are limited openings. The four one-hour classes for $45 with instructor is Bill Fitzgibbon. For more information or to register, call Fitzgibbon at 819-3413.
- Great Beginnings Basketball Program with Ed Green for ages 3 to 6 year olds will be held Saturday mornings from 9-10 a.m. at Colonial Elementary School from November 4-December 9.to Dec 9 (except Nov. 25). Boys and girls are welcome.
