The Bank of Fincastle is now accepting registrations for its 32nd Annual Fall Run to be held on Saturday, Oct. 20.  The race, featuring 5K and 10K events, winds through the historic Town of Fincastle.

“Hosting the largest event held in the Town of Fincastle each year takes a great amount of teamwork among the community,” said Scott Steele, President and CEO of The Bank of Fincastle. “The race would not be possible without our employees, our volunteers, the Town of Fincastle, Botetourt County and our first responders who make this event a success.”

Online registration is available through RunSignUp.com. Paper registration brochures are also available at any The Bank of Fincastle branch locations or print one from the bank’s website at www.bankoffincastle.bank.

Everyone who registers by the October 5 early registration is guaranteed one of the race’s custom long-sleeve shirts featuring a new design each year. The cost to enter is $15 for students age 18 and under and $20 for adults who register prior to October 5. After October 5, all registrations are $25.

The Bank of Fincastle Fall Run begins at 9 a.m. at Central Academy Middle School each year and extends through the Town of Fincastle and ends back at Central Academy for an awards ceremony and refreshments.

Custom medals and trophies are also presented to the top individual, first, second and third place runners in adult and youth age groups, as well as runners who compete as elementary, middle school, high school and open teams.

“We always look forward to the excitement among all the runners, but especially the elementary school teams who compete for trophies for their school,” said Cindy Bailey, Marketing Director for The Bank of Fincastle and the coordinator of the race.

“We are pleased to use a professional chip-timing system again this year at our Fall Run,” said Mike Jasper, Chief Financial Officer and Timing Manager for The Bank of Fincastle Fall Run. “This allows us to post real-time results online and during the run for everyone to view immediately.”  A link to the results will be available on the bank’s home page at https://www.bankoffincastle.bank.

The Bank of Fincastle presents $2,000 in scholarships each year to students from James River and Lord Botetourt who have participated in a previous Fall Run. The 2018 recipients were William Fowler of James River High School and Connor Hayes from Lord Botetourt.
