Luke Harman picked up a win on the mound and had two hits to lead James River to a baseball win over Giles last week. The Knights won in five innings in Pearisburg, 13-1.
Harman improved his pitching record to 2-1 with the complete game victory. He struck out five and walked none while allowing just four hits. At the plate he had a single and a double. Landen Horten also had a big day with a grand slam home run in the third inning.
With the win River improved to 5-7 on the season. The Knights were scheduled to play at Glenvar on Tuesday, but results were too late for publication. River will host Radford on Friday at 5 p.m.
