The James River baseball team will open Region 2C play on Thursday at Giles.
River is the fifth seed in the West Division while Giles is fourth. The winner advances to a game at top-seeded Fort Chiswell on Memorial Day.
River finished the regular season last Friday with a 7-2 loss at Carroll County. Dyllan McAllister took the loss despite giving up just four hits.
Andrew Bridges, Jake Braun, Ryan Pugh, Gabe Sebastino and McAllister had hits for the Knights.
