The James River boys swim team defeated Alleghany, George Wythe, Rural Retreat and Fort Chiswell at the Botetourt YMCA pool last Thursday, losing only to Radford.
Joel Barber placed 2nd in the 200 IM and made his state qualifying cut and also was 2nd in the 100 breaststroke. Austin Myers placed 1st in the 100 backstroke and 2nd in the 200 freestyle. Kingston Bean placed 3rd in the 50 freestyle and 2nd in the 100 freestyle.
The River girls beat Rural Retreat and Fort Chiswell and lost to Radford, Alleghany and George Wythe. Riley Persinger placed 2nd in the 100 free and the 100 backstroke.
This Thursday, January 23, is Senior Night for the Knights as they take on Lord Botetourt, Northside and William Fleming at the Botetourt Y.
