The James River golfers took on Northside in a non-district golf match on Monday and defeated the Vikings at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club. The Knights shot a nine-hole score of 158.
“We played really well,” said River coach Donna Cox.
Silas Miller led the Knights with a nine-hole score of 37 and Ryan Steger was right behind at 38. Joey Schroeder shot a 40 and River’s final scoring round was a 43 by Heath Andrews.
The Knights were scheduled to play Tuesday at Alleghany but that match was postponed until September 16. The Knights are back at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club next Monday, Aug. 30, for a Three Rivers District match.
