Springwood will be the site of a three-team track meet today as James River plays host to Radford and Alleghany on the new track. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
River competed in the Buffalo Invitational at Floyd County High last Friday and had some good performances with a half dozen schools competing. Vanessa Lima won the 100 and teamed with Morgan Marshall, Ella Wright and Rachel Hix to win the 4×100 relay. For the boys, Ben Bailey won the triple jump and was the MVP for field events.
Today’s meet will be the last of the regular season for the Knights. They’ll compete in the Region 2C meet next Thursday, June 10, at Appomattox.
Lord Botetourt was scheduled to run at Northside on Tuesday of this week. The Region 3D meet is at Christiansburg next Wednesday, June 9.
