The James River boys took 13th place in the “Clash with the Titans” cross country race at Hidden Valley High School on Saturday. Brentsville District was the team winner among 20 schools competing in the boys race.
Isaac Bell was River’s fastest runner with a 29th place finish among 141 individuals, running a time of 19:16. The winning time was 16:49 by Danny Connelly of Roanoke Catholic.
Also scoring for the Knights were Camden Powell in 45th place, Samuel Worsley in 52nd, Nathan Etzler in 83rd and Jacob Hill at 118th.
The River girls did not have a team but Abbagail Link ran as an individual and finished 33rd with a time of 23:03. Abigail Seigel of Brentsville District was the winner in 20:33 and Blacksburg was the team champ.
The Knights are off this week, while Lord Botetourt returns from a week off to run Cave Spring in a jayvee meet today at Greenfield. The varsity will compete in the Cougar Clash Invitational in Dublin on Saturday, hosted by Pulaski County High School.
