The James River wrestlers competed in a “quad match” at Liberty High in Bedford last Saturday and came home with two wins.
River beat host Liberty, 36-24, and also defeated Three Rivers District rival Floyd County, 42-15. The only loss was to Chatham and it was a close one, 36-34.
Undefeated wrestlers on the day included Silas Whitson at 106, Cavann Hoelzle at 120, Xaiden Wynn at 126, Brayden Forbes at 132 and Nate Stewart at 144.
This weekend the Knights are headed to Staunton for the Big Red tournament at Riverheads High School.
