Last Thursday evening, The Road Warrior Foundation visited the New Freedom Farm in Buchanan for a BBQ provided by Mission BBQ in Roanoke.
The foundation provides veterans a chance to take a break from everyday life, hop on their Roadsters, and travel around the country seeking their next adventure.
Their journey ran from Leesburg, Va. to Raeford, N.C., traversing portions of Skyline Drive, and featured a stop at the New Freedom Farm for the meal. The veterans set off on an 882-mile round trip last week in support of the Jump For Valor Memorial Weekend.
Jump For Valor is a non-profit organization that provides skydiving and other aerial sports activities for combat, retired, and disabled veterans. All first-time skydivers received their first tandem jump free of charge from Jump For Valor.
New Freedom Farm founder Lois Fritz welcomed the traveling veterans along with members of the Buchanan Lions Club and the New Freedom Farm community.
