Denton Hollis Rock Jr., 70, of Covington, died Sunday, December 17,2023, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Nana Rock.
Mr. Rock was born November 22, 1953 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Denton Hollis Rock Sr. and Helen Deffinbaugh Rock. During his working career, he was employed as a laborer and masonry helper in the construction field. Denton attended First Christian Church.
Mr. Rock is survived by two daughters, Christine Hatcher and husband, Mark, of Roanoke and Katie Ann Rock of Clifton Forge; three grandchildren, Zev, Teddy and Eric; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Eugene Rock of Covington and William H. “Billy” Rock of Covington; three sisters, Joan Ward of Newport News, Tana Angle of Eagle Rock and Donna Rock White of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rock was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Keith Rock.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
