Surrounded by her family, Audry Dean Greer Rogers, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2024

She was born Kannapolis, N.C., September 18, 1937. After moving to Roanoke, she attended Andrew Lewis High School and graduated from Jefferson High School.

She met Carlton, her husband of 68 years, at a church revival meeting. They married and moved to Cloverdale where she and Carlton built their home and raised their children, Tony and Ginger

Audry was very creative and talented, she enjoyed gardening, flower arrangements, decorating and painting. She operated a wedding planning business that included baking wedding cakes. Hotels in the area would often call on her to make wedding cakes. Audry was also fortunate to travel to 49 states and several countries in Europe. She lived in Doha Qatar for almost a year.

She enjoyed many miles riding with Carlton on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and the friends she made in the Retreads motorcycle club. Audry attended Cloverdale Church of the Brethren, was the church’s secretary and very active in the women’s group. After her retirement from the church, she spent her time with her hobbies, enjoyed her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Lee and Ruth Wayne Greer, and granddaughter, Aja C Rogers.

Surviving are her husband, Carlton E. Rogers; son, Tony Rogers (Shelly); daughter, Ginger B. Roberts (Donnie); grandchildren, AJ Rogers (Stephanie), Brittany Bousman (Remy) and Jake Bousman (Kasey); great-grandchildren, Emilee, Aubree, and Raiden; sister, Jessie Toler (Wayne), along with numerous family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for all their care for Audry and the family.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. Moments with the family will follow the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family asked that you make donations to Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. Arrangements are by Oakey’s East Chapel and Crematory, 540-977-3909.
