December 26, 1934 – March 1, 2026
Surrounded by his family, Carlton Eugene Rogers went to be with the Lord on a beautiful Sunday morning, March 1, 2026.
He was born in Cloverdale, on December 26, 1934. Carlton attended Troutville High School where he played baseball. He met his wife, Audry, at a church revival. They married and built a home in Cloverdale where he lived for almost 70 years.
Carlton retired as a master electrician supervising commercial projects that included three years working in the Middle East (Qatar, Abu Dhabi) on hotel projects. He enjoyed woodworking, riding his Honda Goldwing and driving. Carlton would proudly tell you that he has driven in all 48 contiguous states. His most loved activity was the time he spent riding his grandkids and great-grandkids around the yard in the back of a wagon, on his ATV, or later in life on his “Buggy.” Carlton was a lifelong member of the Cloverdale Church of Brethren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audry Rogers; parents, Charles and Gertrude Rogers; and a granddaughter, Aja Rogers.
Surviving are his son, Tony Rogers (Shelly); his daughter, Ginger Bousman-Roberts (Donnie); grandchildren, AJ Rogers (Stephanie), Brittney Bousman (Remy), and Jake Bousman (Kasey); and great-grandchildren, Emilee, Aubree, Raiden, and Bodhi.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. Moments with the family will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests making donations to the Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. Condolences may be shared with his family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
Arrangements entrusted to Oakey’s East Chapel and Crematory, Roanoke, 540-977-3909.
