Summer concert season is in full effect in Botetourt County.
Last weekend, Buchanan hosted “Reggae by the River”—an event showcasing the soulful sounds of Sol Roots Band and the dub reggae of Lazy Man Dub Band.
Sol Roots Band is a soul group based out of Washington, D.C. The band has performed weekly in the D.C. area for close to a decade. The band previously worked with the likes of Prince, Dizzy Gillespie, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Lazy Man Dub Band performs regularly in the Roanoke Valley. Established in 2007, Lazy Man combines the sounds of reggae, rock, and ska roots. Their sound produces a nostalgic vibe to any fans of dub reggae.
The crowd enjoyed the sun, the groove, and the mood reggae sets. Vendors wrapped around the crowd. People danced, sang along, and took in a beautiful Saturday evening in Buchanan.
