Lisco R. “Bushcat” Russell II, 63, of Eagle Rock, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 following a long illness.
Lisco was born August 6, 1955 in Pulaski. He was the son of the late Lisco Robert and Louise Elois McClanahan Russell.
Lisco was a graduate of Pulaski High School and was a star wrestler and football champion receiving regional and state titles for his achievements. He served in The United States Marine Corps and National Guard. Lisco was a corrections officer at the Botetourt Corrections Unit 25 and worked for WestRock (formerly Mead Westvaco). He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and photography.
In addition to his parents, Lisco was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Johnson; sisters, Mary Anne Rogers and Betty Floyd. He is survived by his wife of 41½ years, Marguerite Dispenza Russell; sons, Jerome Lottier of West Virginia, Lisco R. Russell III of South Carolina, and Melvin Megarel of Arizona; grandchildren, Chrysta, Antar, Maya, and Alora; his brother, David Russell; sisters, Sarah Jones, Elizabeth Brown, and Catherine Russell; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service celebrating Lisco’s homegoing will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville with the Rev. Fr. Stephen McNally officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12 noon Saturday.
