Mary LeGrande, wife of the late Larry LeGrande, throws out the first pitch at the Salem Red Sox Carolina League game last Friday night at Salem Memorial Ballpark. Larry LeGrande was a star player in the Negro Leagues who hails from the Roanoke Valley. He was inducted into the Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
