Invasive Plant Species in Your Backyard Tuesday, September 10 at 7 p.m. Bruce Ingram will give a presentation on invasive plant species in backyard habitats and how to eliminate them.
Genealogy 2020 planning meeting Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. In 2020, Botetourt County will be 250 years old. To celebrate, we are planning a genealogy fair called Genealogy 2020. The next planning meeting for this event will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. Please join us to help make this a successful event. This will be our last evening meeting. After this month, meetings will move back to 2 p.m.
After School Technology Classes Thursdays, September 12, 19 and 26 from 4-5 p.m.
Join us for this series of technology classes for 4th and 5th graders taught by Miss Crooked Road’s Outstanding Teen Skylar Gay. Learn about Micro: bit, Scratch, MIT App Design, and more! Students will also learn the fundamentals of app design and hacking in the free 5-week course. Thursday evenings from September 12-October 10 from 4-5 p.m. For students in grades 4-5. 51st Annual Fincastle Festival Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The Friends of the Fincastle Library will have books and baked goods for sale. We will also have an information table set up to advertise the Genealogy Fair 2020. Other spots around town will feature craft vendors, food vendors, local authors, a car show, live music, touch a truck, a quilt show, and more.

A free monthly presentation by Mountain Castles Soil and Water Conservation District and the Valley Conservation Council. This month’s topic is Backyard Conservation. Learn how you can help protect water quality and create pollinator habitats through the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP).
Friends of the Fincastle Library Book and Bake Sale Thursday, September 26 from 9 am-9 pm Friday, September 27 from 9 am-5 pm, Saturday, September 28 from 9 am-1 pm. Shop for great deals on books, movies, music, baked goods, and more. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Fincastle Library. Donations, baked goods, and volunteers needed.
