Damon “Cap” Leroy Shelton, Sr., 76, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekial and Betty Shelton; brother, Grat Shelton; and grandson, Tristan Shelton.
He was a butcher at the Kroger meat plant in Salem and a member of the House of Prayer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Shelton; sons and daughters-in-law, Damon, Jr. and Melinda Shelton, Michael and Charlotte Shelton, Danny and Jamie Shelton; grandchildren, Danielle (Charles) Corner, Kyle Shelton, and Tanner Shelton; great-grandsons, Christian and Russell Corner; step-grandchildren, Jay, Logan, and Daniel; sisters and brother-in-law, Dena and Glenn Priddy and Brenda Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
