The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office held another “Senior Social” through the department’s Senior Focus Outreach Program last Friday afternoon at Orchard Hills Church on Cloverdale Road.
Seniors were able to visit with many public and private services that included Botetourt Fire & EMS, Enroll Virginia!, InnovAge, Virginia Navigator, Good Samaritan Advanced Illness Care, Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, Solomon’s Mission, Jay Kilby Realty, Virginia Mountain Mortgage, Carilion Clinic Community Health and Outreach, Sentara Health Plans, Cora Physical Therapy, Botetourt County Social Services, Local Office on Aging, and Valley Medicare Solutions.
Services such as daily well-being checks, general health, and financial well-being were on site. Government services were also on hand to answer questions and help seniors navigate their future needs. The event and all services were provided free of charge to the senior community.
Guests enjoyed a free lunch served by the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Matt Ward presented an abbreviated summarization on Senior Social Fraud and Prevention, that was followed by a brief presentation by guest speaker Scotti Hartman from Good Samaritan Hospice.
The next Senior Focus will take place July 26 at Fincastle Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m.
