The Eagle Rock Ruritan Club is gearing up for a celebration of science, innovation, and discovery. The Second Annual Science Festival is promising a day of science fair exhibits, hands-on experiments and captivating demonstrations that will ignite the imagination of all ages. The Blue Ridge Vineyard will again host the free event on May 11 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The main highlight is the science fair which is open to all ages and any category of experimentation. The only rule is that enrants follow the scientific method to design and execute an experiment. Display the work on a tri-fold poster board and bring props if you’d like. Every participant who registers by April 21 will receive a festival T-shirt! “We have many returning exhibitors and some new activities. From making sunflower oil to welding to ‘Stop the Bleed,’ there’s no shortage of activities to spark curiosity and creativity,” said Ruritan member Beth Leffel. “Children can delve into the fascinating world of biology with honeybees and animal models, while adults explore the latest advancements in technology and engineering. And, the inflatable axe throwing event will be back!
“The Eagle Rock Ruritan Club is so appreciative of the community collaboration we have received.
