Deborah Ann Wood Simpson, 63, of Fincastle, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020.
Deborah was born in Charlottesville, Va. on December 11, 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Lee and Betty Louise Hughes Wood, and sister, Kathy Young. In her early years she worked as a seamstress at Glad Rags sewing factory in Buchanan and later was employed with Double Envelope for many years. Deborah was a loving force for everyone she met. She had a great love for her family and being involved in anything they were doing. She loved horses and horseback riding.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years and the love of her life, Mark Alan Simpson. Also she is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Mandi Simpson Myers and Michael Myers of Troutville, Tiffanie Simpson Hipes and Lee Hipes of Troutville; her loving grandchildren, Madison Myers and Lucas Hipes; her “baby” dog, Toby-Lynn; two sisters, Sandra Montgomery and spouse, David Montgomery of Eagle Rock, Annette Clark and her spouse Eddie Clark of Fincastle; and brother-in-law Danny Young of Natural Bridge. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. The family is planning a celebration of her life for all of her family and friends at a later date.
