Alfreda Bolton Sisson, 89, of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. A Celebration of Life will be held on Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at Wheatland Lutheran Church, 1560 Wheatland Road, Buchanan.

Alfreda is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Donna Richter (Rick) of Rock Hill, S.C., and Julie Wright (David) of Frisco, Texas; her grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, John Richter (Amelia) and Will Richter; her great-grandchildren, Hollie and Matthew Miller and Eloise Richter; as well as her brother, Benton Bolton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly Sisson; her parents, Alfred and Louise Bolton; and her grandson, Chris Wright.

Alfreda grew up in Fincastle, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Beverly. After attending Madison College, she worked for the Roanoke Times newspaper, the Botetourt County School System, and retired from the law offices of Trumbo & Tucker of Fincastle as a legal assistant for real estate closings. She was very active at Wheatland Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, served as a member of Church Council, and was involved in the Sunday School program.  She cherished their home of 52 years in Fincastle which had a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. After Beverly’s death, she moved to Rock Hill, and became a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing, traveling across the country on family vacations, making cards, watching birds, and going out to eat with friends. Every four years, she looked forward to celebrating her Leap Year birthday!

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wheatland Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 1560 Wheatland Road, Buchanan, 24066.
