Last week at the April Board of Supervisors meeting, the board honored Ray Sloan, the former representative from the Buchanan District. Sloan spent three years on the board after spending years working for different fire and rescue departments.
Dr. Mac Scothorn presented Sloan with an award of recognition for the time he served on the board and Sloan’s time working for fire and EMS departments.
“I thank you for your friendship, for the time you’ve given us, and the hard decisions you made,” Dr. Scothorn told Sloan before presenting his award.
Sloan resigned from the Board of Supervisors last December to rejoin the Buchanan Volunteer Fire & EMS Department. He nominated current Buchanan representative Amy White before his departure.
