Bring a lawn Chair to sit and enjoy a performance by Sol Roots and the Virginia Allstar Band on Buchanan’s riverfront Town Park on Lowe Street this Saturday, 5 until 8 p.m. Admission to Saturday’s event is by donation with proceeds going to the Buchanan Elementary School Backpack Buddy Program and the Buchanan Calendar of Events.
Sol Roots is known for his performance mix of Reggae, New Orleans funk, raw blues, energetic rock, deep grooves, and southern soul. Sol is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who has toured with many roots, funk, and blues legends around the world as a part of Music Maker Revue.
The band has performed at many premier festivals and venues across the East Coast and has shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, The Wood Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Robert Randolph, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Booker T. Jones, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene and more.
