A group of Roanoke Valley celebrities took on their counterparts from Lynchburg last Friday night in a charity softball game at Salem Memorial Ballpark. The Red Sox took a 5-2 win over the Hillcats as donations were taken for the American Red Cross and United Way in both Roanoke and Lynchburg. Here, Coby Massie, a former Lord Botetourt High School baseball player, rips a hit for the Sox and the two mascots pose for a photo. Massie is now a teacher at Glen Cove Elementary School. Organizers are hoping the event will become an annual affair.
