The Botetourt County Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee (BCPS SEAC) has announced four regular business meetings throughout the school year. These meetings are scheduled for from 6-7:30 p.m. on the following dates: September 24 (at Cloverdale Elementary), January 28, 2020, March 31, 2020, and June 23, 2020. In addition, two informational sessions are scheduled from 6-7 p.m. on December 3 and April 7, 2020. Locations and topics for the information sessions will be publicized at a later date.
The Botetourt County Special Education Advisory Committee functions to advise the school division of needs in the education of children with disabilities. In addition, the BCPS SEAC assists in the development of long-range plans, priorities and strategies for meeting the identified needs of children with disabilities. The BCPS SEAC is comprised of parents of students with disabilities, representatives of local agencies, community members and school representatives.
Special Education Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. Parent and student involvement is encouraged, valued and welcomed.
