Two Botetourt County veterans will mark extraordinary milestones this Saturday, Oct. 11, with a special birthday celebration at Mission BBQ in Roanoke Towers Mall. The community is invited to join in honoring John Eakin, who is turning 101, and Marion Noel, celebrating his 100th birthday.
Both men are well-known figures at local Veterans Day events, having attended for several years and earning admiration for their service and spirit.
The celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and typically wraps up by 12:30 p.m. Those who attend will have the chance to meet Eakin and Noel, who are known for their engaging conversations and appreciation for those who stop by to show their support.
The event promises to be a heartfelt tribute to two remarkable lives and a reminder of the importance of honoring the veterans who have given so much.
