Born in Roanoke, he was the son of Samuel E. and Barbara Tate Sprinkel. Glenn graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and briefly attended Emory and Henry College before dedicating his life to farming in Botetourt. He cherished memories of his time with FFA and the Cavalier Football Team, and was known for his sense of humor in high school.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Taylor Sprinkel; daughters, Whitney and Ellen; and his beloved border collie Ralph and his ornery cat Trouble.  He is also survived by his sister, Laura Sprinkel Smith; brother-in-law. Lewis Gibson “Gibby” Smith; nieces,, Rene Ramlow, her husband Hugh, and his sweet great-niece Miller; and Kimberly Hooper and her husband Collin. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Samuel E. Sprinkel, III.  Glenn also had a very special connection and relationship with Lisa’s family in Gretna including her parents, Ramsey and Barbara Taylor; her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Dennis Burnett, and their daughters, Callie and fiancé, Kirk Holmes, and Carrie (Keller), husband Nathan and their two girls, Adelyn and Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be held at Rader Funeral Home, officiated by Matthew Browning and Richard Ronk, with burial at Godwin Cemetery, Fincastle. Visitation was held at Rader Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025 from 2-4. The funeral was held on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Godwin Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Bryant family for their invaluable help in keeping Glenn’s dream and life’s work a continued reality. Your support has meant so much and has helped ensure that Glenn’s legacy lives on.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department or Zion United Methodist Church in Gretna.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
