Dorothy Lee Secrist St.Clair, 89, of Troutville, went to her heavenly home Friday, May 24, 2019 at Salem Health and Rehab following a long illness.
Dorothy was born in Botetourt County and lived in the area all of her life except for 16 years in Phoenix, Ariz. She was the daughter of the late of Clinton Lee and Pauline Marie Haymaker Secrist.
Dorothy was employed for 16 years with Oak Hall Cap and Gown and retired after 15 years of service with Motorola in Phoenix, Ariz. She was a member of New Haven Church of Christ in Troutville; enjoyed family and friends; reading, especially her Bible; and flower gardening. Dorothy was a caregiver and wife to her husband for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her step-father, James St.Clair; husband, David Lee St.Clair; siblings, Paul, Jimmy, Durwood, Hugh, Warren, Sonny, Roberta, Mary, and Nina.
She is survived by her son, Jerry St. Clair of Troutville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Tommy Mills of Elliston; grandchildren, Michelle St.Clair Malone (John Roberts), Jerry (Terri) St.Clair Jr., Todd St.Clair, Nicole (Teddy) Lovell, Justin McKee, and David St.Clair; great-grandchildren, Samantha Malone, Sidney Malone, Ethan St.Clair, Cameron St.Clair, and Riley Lovell; great-great-grandchildren: Kaleb Malone and Kynslee’ Skyy St.Clair; brother, Homer St.Clair of Troutville; sisters, Alice Varelos of Roanoke and Betty (William) Cash of Troutville.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28 at Rader Funeral Home, Daleville. Burial was in the St.Clair Family Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday, 3-7 p.m., and Monday, 3-7 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.rader-funeralhome.com.
