James River sophomore Ryan Steger led the Knights golf team in the first two matches of the season. The Knights finished fourth at both Old Mill last Thursday and the River course in Radford on Monday.
Steger shot a 44 at Old Mill and followed it up with a 43 at the very challenging River course. Silas Miller had a strong round on both days with a 46 at Old Mill and a 45 at the River course.
“We’ve got to start making some clutch putts to see our team score come on down,” said coach Donna Cox.
The Knights will host a Three Rivers District match on Thursday of this week at the Botetourt Golf & Swim Club, beginning at 1 p.m.
