American Legion Post 240 has announced the students it will sponsor at this year’s Boys State and Girls State. They are Caleb Franklin and James Lively for Boys State and Olivia Griffin for Girls State. All are students at Lord Botetourt High School.

Virginia Boys State and Girls State is a week-long event that will be held in June. The purpose this event is a hands-on leadership action program designed to develop a working knowledge of the structure of government and to impress upon the student the fact that government is just what we make of it. Along the way they will have the opportunity to learn the political process of each level of government, parliamentary procedures and Virginia political history.

Post 240 congratulates these students and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
