Colonial Elementary School is asking its students to write letters to seniors who live in nursing homes.
The request from Principal Tammy Riggs said, “They are not allowed visitors now and a couple of facilities have reached out to me to see if our students would be willing to draw pictures or write letters to them.”
Students are placing their letters in a post office box that is located at the school. They’re asked to address their letters to “A Senior Friend.
The school plans to accept and mail the letters for the duration of the time that school isn’t in session.
