With summer is right around the corner, and Botetourt County Libraries and Botetourt County Parks & Recreation want to help local literary enthusiasts dive into reading while also enjoying a movie under the stars.
Get ready to dive into the excitement with the grand “launch” of Botetourt Libraries’ 2024 Summer Reading Challenge. Explore endless waves of books and set sail on a thrilling adventure! The challenge kicks off on Monday, May 13, and runs through Sunday, June 30. This year’s theme is “Oceans.” Find out more about the challenge by visiting www.bocolibraries.info.
Additionally, the libraries ask participants to save the date for the “ultimate splash party” on Friday, May 17, at 6 p.m. at Buchanan Elementary School. Botetourt Libraries and Botetourt Parks & Recreation are joining forces for an evening packed with watery excitement and entertainment. This family-friendly event will feature a wet/dry slide, battleship water pong, and a bubble foam party with the Bubble Brigade. Concessions will be available. Stay after dusk to enjoy a showing of the Disney movie “Moana.” Grab a blanket or lawn chair, and a towel, and meet Botetourt Libraries and Botetourt Parks & Recreation for a night of exploration and fun.
