The Lord Botetourt and James River swim teams will be hosting meets at the Botetourt YMCA this week. LB will be home tonight and James River will host a meet on Thursday.
James River’s meet is the annual “Swim for a Cure” charity event. Donations are welcome, see coach Yana Williams.
LB is home tonight against Hidden Valley, Jefferson Forest and Liberty Christian Academy. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Lord Botetourt competed in the “All Timesland” meet at the Gator Center in Roanoke on Saturday. The Cavalier girls were fourth among six teams and the boys were seventh in an eight-team field. Patrick Henry High School swept the team titles for both.
Angelina Zeidan took second in both the 200 IM and 100 Free for LB, earning state cuts in both events. Katie Cross was third in the 200 IM and the team of Layne Jones, Cross, Zeidan and Emily Hanson took third in the 200 Medley Relay. Jones was third in the 200 Free and 100 Back.
The 200 Free Relay team of Jones, Cross, Hanson and Zeidan was second and the boys 200 Free team of James Lively, Kai Wolfe, Griffin Davidson and Zeke Wolfe took fourth place.
