The James River and Lord Botetourt swim teams have their final meets before the holiday break this week. James River was scheduled to swim at Hollins University on Tuesday and Lord Botetourt has a meet at the Botetourt YMCA tonight.
River had a meet at the Botetourt Y last week. The boys team out-touched Giles, 39-38, and beat Northside, 40-24, but lost to Glenvar and Carroll County. The girls beat Northside, 29-13, and also lost to Glenvar and Carroll.
Highlights include a first place in the backstroke and a second in the 50 free for Riley Persinger. Lydia Jones took second in the 100 back and Joel Barber was second in the 100 breast and third in the 100 fly.
Lord Botetourt had a meet at the Bedford YMCA last week against Salem and host Jefferson Forest. The LB girls beat Salem, 60.5 to 25.5 but lost to Jefferson Forest, 57-36. The Botetourt boys lost to both.
Analise Buyalos swam a personal best in the 200 IM with a time of 2:38.5 and many Cavaliers improved their times.
