‘The Miracle Worker’ opens Thursday at Attic Productions

Attic Productions invites the public to the D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Center, 7490 Roanoke Road, near historic Fincastle and minutes away from Daleville for “The Miracle Worker” by William Gibson. The show runs October 17-24 with performances on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Theatre veteran David Walton, Jr. is directing a talented cast to bring this remarkable story to the Attic stage,

This family drama is based on the true story of Helen Keller, a young deaf and blind girl, and her dedicated teacher, Annie Sullivan, who struggles to reach into Helen’s isolation and bring her into contact with the outside world.

Attic is also hosting two shows with sign language interpretation by Andrew and Betsy Quillen on Sunday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Questions may be directed to Artistic Director Kerry Williams at Krw7447@gmail.com.

Adult tickets are $20, students 18 and under and groups of 10 or more are $15 when paid in cash or by check at the box office. A $2 convenience fee per ticket will be added if paying with a card. Tickets may be purchased on the Attic Productions website by visiting www.atticproductions.info.  For questions or assistance with purchasing tickets, call the box office at 540-473-1001. Volunteers are staffing the box office for this show on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 pm.. Leave a message at other times and your call will be returned as soon as possible

This show is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. Partial funding support comes from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
